Terms of Service
Last updated: 3 November 2026
1. What Zap Pay is
Zap Pay is a software service that helps merchants accept UPI payments on their own websites. It shows buyers a payment page with the merchant's own UPI ID, and it verifies whether a payment has arrived by reading payment alert emails that the merchant chooses to forward to Zap Pay.
Zap Pay is non-custodial and verification-only. Buyers pay merchants directly, from their UPI app to the merchant's own UPI ID. Zap Pay never receives, holds, pools, settles or pays out money. There are no Zap Pay wallets, balances, settlements or payouts. Zap Pay is not a bank, payment aggregator, payment gateway in the regulated sense, or payment system operator, and it is not approved, licensed or endorsed by any regulator, bank or UPI app.
2. Merchant responsibilities
- You must use a UPI ID and bank or wallet account that belongs to you and that you are allowed to use for receiving payments for your business.
- You are solely responsible for your own KYC, account limits, the rules of your bank or UPI app, refunds, disputes, chargebacks, customer support, invoices and all taxes (including GST and income tax) on the money you receive.
- You must not use Zap Pay for illegal goods or services, fraud, gambling, money transfer services, or to collect money on behalf of other people.
- Before delivering high-value goods, check that the money actually reached your account. Automatic confirmation depends on emails and can be delayed, missing or wrong.
3. Email forwarding
Auto-confirm works only for emails you forward to your private Zap Pay forwarding address. Forward only payment alert emails. Do not forward OTPs, passwords, statements or unrelated mail. Zap Pay never asks for your Gmail, bank or UPI password or any OTP. If anyone asks you for these in the name of Zap Pay, do not share them.
4. No guarantee
Zap Pay is provided "as is", without warranties. We do not guarantee that every payment will be detected, that detection will be instant, or that the service will be available at all times. A forged email can look like a real payment alert; Zap Pay applies sender and signature checks to reduce this risk but cannot remove it. To the maximum extent allowed by law, Zap Pay is not liable for lost sales, wrongly confirmed or unconfirmed orders, or any indirect loss.
5. API keys and security
Keep your API keys and webhook secret private. Anyone with your live key can create orders in your name. You can regenerate keys at any time in your dashboard. Always verify webhook signatures and confirm an order's status through the API before delivering.
6. Suspension
We may suspend accounts that break these terms or put buyers at risk. You may stop using Zap Pay at any time.
7. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
